4 Principles of Air Filtration

dust imageNowadays, whether the mining minerals or industrial development, it causes a lot of air quality problems. Almost each city faces the air pollution problem. People’s awareness of environmental protection is getting stronger. Therefore, air filters are becoming more and more indispensable in people’s lives. However what is the principle of air filters to remove the harmful particles? The following four are the most basic filtering principles:

  1. Diffusion: Tiny particles do random Brownian motion in the air and stop when they hit the filter media.
  2. Interception:Larger particles in the air cannot pass through the air filter and are intercepted.
  3. Gravity sedimentation: Large suspended particles will precipitate during the movement due to gravity.
  4. Inertial Pass:Suspended particles are intercepted by impinging on the air filter due to inertia.
